The team from Seville has concluded an exceptional season, securing its place in the national handball elite. This promotion marks a turning point for the sport in the Andalusian capital, as it is the first time a Sevillian team will compete in the Liga Asobal.
The decisive victory came against Alcobendas, the bottom-ranked team in the category, with a final score of 29-21. The match, played in a packed Pabellón de Amate, was thrilling, and Proin demonstrated its superiority from the start, leading by seven goals at halftime (16-9).
Despite the opponent's reaction in the second half, which narrowed the gap to two goals, Proin remained calm and regained control of the match to seal their promotion. This success comes just three years after the club was in the third category of Spanish handball, now consolidating itself as champion of the División de Honor Plata with one match remaining.
“"It is a source of pride for Seville to have a club like Cajasol Sevilla BM Proin, a team that exemplifies how doing things well yields results."
The promotion has generated great excitement in the city. The mayor of Seville has congratulated the club, emphasizing that this achievement fulfills a long-held dream for local handball fans and is a testament to the excellent work carried out by the management, coaching staff, and players of the team.
