The fair was inaugurated on Thursday night with the official lighting of the festive illumination. Mayor Gustavo Cuéllar, accompanied by local authorities, the mayoress of Palos, Milagros Romero, and several children, presided over the ceremony.
Following the inaugural tour of the fairgrounds, the exhibition "Granulometría de Mazagón" by local artist Carlos Pizarro opened to the public. The exhibition uses the beach's sand as its primary material to recreate landscapes of the town.
Another highlight of the first night was the presentation of the poetry and short story contest award to young Manuela Palanco, an event organized by the women's association Marzaga.
The fairgrounds, which this year features 26 stalls, hosts these days of conviviality. The opening night was enlivened by the group La Freska, and animation sessions and DJs at the Espacio Joven will continue until the early hours of the morning.
As a new feature, the fair attractions will be silenced daily from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM for individuals with auditory hypersensitivity, including those with autism spectrum disorders.
Bus services from Moguer have been reinforced to facilitate access to the fair.
Today's program includes the 'Fiesta de la Bicicleta' (Bicycle Festival) through the town center and, in the evening, concerts by La Otra Banda and Barón Brandy. On Saturday, the 1st, Raúl “El Balilla” and Jarampa will perform, and on Sunday, the 2nd, the fair will conclude with Somos del Sur, alongside orchestras Transición and La Clave. The grand children's gala, featuring the show “El baile de las emociones” (The Dance of Emotions), will take place on Sunday.
