The incident occurred last Monday evening when the 46-year-old bullfighter was gored by a 512-kilogram bull. The animal inflicted a horn wound to his rear, necessitating his urgent transfer to a hospital in the Andalusian capital.
“"I had a rather rough night. It's the goring that has hurt me the most. I was in immense pain and also very afraid because I thought I was bleeding. I feared it may have reached my guts."
According to the medical report, the bullfighter sustained a wound approximately 10 centimeters long, partially damaging the sphincter muscles and causing a 1.5-centimeter perforation in the posterior wall of the rectum. Doctors have imposed strict fasting and intravenous feeding to protect the wound and minimize the risk of infection.
The event took place at La Maestranza bullring, where the matador was making his return to a packed crowd. The bull, named Clandestino, threw him against the sand and trampled on his back. The bullfighter, visibly in pain, was carried out of the ring by his colleagues and rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
