The Andalusian Institute for Women (IAM) has set up an InfoMujer point in El Rocío for the third consecutive year, offering information, attention, and advice on gender and sexual violence during the pilgrimage.

The Regional Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality, through the Andalusian Institute for Women (IAM), has established an InfoMujer point in El Rocío for the pilgrimage. This initiative, now in its third year, aims to provide information, attention, and specialized advice on gender and sexual violence.
The staff at this center are specifically trained to offer initial assistance to women who may be victims of any form of aggression, whether physical, psychological, or sexual. The information tent is located in the Plaza del Acebrón in the Almonteña village and will be open from today, Friday, until Sunday, May 24th, between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
The InfoMujer point provides informational materials on the IAM's resources and services, including psychological support programs, shelters for victims, and 24-hour comprehensive assistance centers for victims of sexual assault. The women's helpline, 900 200 999, is also being promoted; it is a free, confidential line operating 24/7 in 72 languages.
In addition to direct assistance, InfoMujer aims to raise awareness, promote equality, and prevent violence. To this end, brochures from awareness campaigns and mobile applications such as ‘ANDALUZAA: Woman, present and future’, which centralizes job and training offers, and ‘Iguales en Igualdad’ (Equal in Equality), which gathers educational resources on equality, are being distributed. All materials include a QR code for easy information download.
This morning, the point was visited by the territorial delegate for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality in Huelva, José Manuel Borrero, the territorial delegate for Tourism, Culture, and Sport in Huelva, Teresa Herrera, the acting coordinators of the IAM and the Andalusian Institute of Youth in Huelva, Laura Sánchez and Ángela Ramos, respectively, and the councilwoman for Equality of the Almonte City Council, Ana Rocío Saavedra.
The service throughout the weekend is provided by staff from the entity Engloba, under the coordination of the Andalusian Institute for Women.
