The project, which began in October 2025, has upgraded a 2.27-kilometer stretch. This infrastructure is essential for linking the university campus with the city's cycling network, benefiting commuters traveling between Seville, Dos Hermanas, and Alcalá de Guadaíra.
The intervention included significant technical upgrades, such as a new rainwater collection and pumping system in the underpasses beneath the railway and Metro lines. Additionally, the pavement was renewed in key areas, including the footbridge over the SE-30 and the bridge crossing the Guadaíra river.
To encourage cycling, new bike racks, a user counter, and a maintenance kit have been installed at the Metro underpass. These improvements were funded by the Next Generation EU program, as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
