After a weekend of mild temperatures, the province of Cádiz faces a drastic change with the arrival of a warm air mass of African origin. This phenomenon will send thermometers soaring from this Wednesday, heralding a fully summery atmosphere in much of the Cadiz territory.
The thermal rise will be particularly pronounced between Wednesday and Thursday. While inland and Bay areas, such as Jerez de la Frontera, will record highs of up to 36 degrees, the Campo de Gibraltar will experience cooler, albeit windy, conditions thanks to the maritime influence of the Strait.
In the northwest coast, municipalities like Sanlúcar de Barrameda will see a temperature jump of over ten degrees, going from highs of 22 degrees at the beginning of the week to reaching 35 degrees on Thursday. Cádiz capital, although moderated by the sea, will register highs of 28 degrees on Wednesday and approach 30 on Sunday, with the Levante wind intensifying the heat sensation.
The Campo de Gibraltar will be the exception, with highs barely reaching 23 degrees in Algeciras and 21 in Tarifa. The Levante wind will act as a 'natural air conditioner', slowing the entry of warm air. The State Meteorological Agency has activated a yellow alert for coastal phenomena in this area due to strong Levante gusts.
Nights will also be affected, with the early return of 'tropical nights'. Minimum temperatures between 20 and 22 degrees are expected from Wednesday to Friday in large areas of the Bay and the interior, making sleep difficult due to the high temperatures.
