The incident, which began around 12:33 PM, affected all lanes between kilometers 779 and 771 of the A-66. The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) established an alternative route via the N-630 to redirect traffic towards Mérida.
Traffic returned to normal by early afternoon once the emergency was resolved. The province of Seville also experienced five other congestion incidents on the A-49, A-4, and AP-4, impacting various sections and lanes.
On the A-49, slow traffic was observed in the Seville-bound direction between Castilleja de la Cuesta and Camas (km 3-0), and traffic jams occurred in the Huelva-bound direction between Sanlúcar la Mayor and Huévar del Aljarafe (km 18-25).
The A-4 saw congestion in Dos Hermanas (km 553-556) heading towards Cádiz, while the AP-4 experienced delays in Los Palacios y Villafranca (km 21-30) and Las Cabezas de San Juan (km 44-38), in the direction of Cádiz and Seville, respectively.
