An electrical installation fire, possibly a transformer center, erupted on Rioja Street in Seville, near the Santo Ángel Church, generating several explosions and a dense smoke plume that alarmed residents and shopkeepers.

The incident occurred in the early afternoon on Monday, around 3:40 PM, in the heart of the Andalusian capital. The rapid spread of the fire and the detonations caused concern among pedestrians and staff in nearby establishments.
Seville City Council Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene to contain the flames and secure the area. Simultaneously, the Local Police established a security cordon, restricting pedestrian access to facilitate firefighting efforts and ensure public safety.
Municipal sources confirmed that, fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. However, the large amount of smoke and strong burning smell led to the voluntary evacuation of some adjacent buildings as a precautionary measure.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple explosions before smoke began to fill the area, causing many people to rush into the street, where police presence was almost immediate to cordon off the affected area.
