The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will travel to Almería to assess the situation of the devastating forest fire in Los Gallardos. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with the President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, according to party sources. This meeting follows the death of a 93-year-old British woman, the thirteenth fatality from the fire.
Feijóo's team has indicated that the meeting with Moreno will address the tragedy and offer support to those affected. Despite this trip, the People's Party will proceed with its weekly steering committee meeting.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will also travel to Almería to visit the fire-affected area. This trip has led to the postponement of an institutional event planned in La Línea de la Concepción.
On Sunday, Juanma Moreno and the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, highlighted the coordination between different administrations. Although the fire was stabilized, the Military Emergencies Unit (UME) will continue its deployment to ensure safety and prevent any resurgence.
