The festival EL FOC – Culture with Pride is entering its final phase in Seville with a program centered on contemporary performing arts, reinforcing the city as a meeting point for queer creation, memory, and new dramaturgy.
Organized by Cultura con Orgullo, El Golpe, and Serendipia Global, with support from the Fundación SGAE and the City Council of Seville, the event will close its stage programming with three productions that delve into identity, violence, the passage of time, and the construction of memory through deeply personal and contemporary theatrical languages.
The lineup features the Spanish premiere of La misionera, by UJO Teatro, written, directed, and performed by Alonso Gil Gil. The play, presented on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30, at Teatro Viento Sur, uses the relationship between a hospitalized grandmother and her grandson to create a hybrid, intimate, and deeply emotional scenic device about care, memory, and the desire to imagine other possible lives, while also bridging the dictatorships of Argentina and Spain.
Sala Cero will host Todas somos Baby Jane on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30. This creation by Álvaro Prados and Antonio L. Pedraza is inspired by the relationship between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, reflecting on failure, aging, and the public construction of artistic identities with a sharp yet melancholic perspective.
On Saturday, May 30, the Centro TNT will present X, a play by Jaime Francés. This autofiction aims to highlight the hatred and violence faced by the LGTBIQ+ community, while advocating for theatre and art as spaces of protection and resistance.

Javier Paisano also celebrated the selection of Manolo Rosado, deputy director of EL FOC, as one of the grand marshals for Seville's Pride celebration, alongside figures like Falete, María Peláe, Jedet, and Laura Gallego.
With this edition, EL FOC – Culture with Pride reaffirms its commitment to contemporary creation and solidifies Seville as a major reference for queer culture in Southern Europe.
