The internal crisis within the PP in Dos Hermanas has intensified following the resignation of the local Executive on May 4th. The resigning members argue that their departure was due to the "emptying of powers" they experienced after the imposition of a local coordinator, José Veira, who also serves as the mayor of Los Molares and territorial deputy secretary of the PP of Sevilla.
In their resignation letter, submitted to the party's regional leadership, the executive chaired by Carmen Espada denounced the "impossibility" of exercising their mandate "under conditions of legality and democratic normality". According to their account, the appointment of a coordinator by the PP of Sevilla to resolve a "complex situation" led to a "progressive loss of capacity for action" by both the Local Executive and the municipal group.
The resigned leadership defends the work carried out, asserting that the PP of Dos Hermanas "has carried out constant work of presence in the streets, contact with residents, relations with collectives, and building a political alternative". They point to achievements such as an increase in councilors to 6 from the previous legislature's 2 and a rise in affiliations, in addition to presenting over 197 initiatives to the plenary.
Among their demands, the executive lists the "emptying of organic powers" through unilateral political decisions, interference in institutional representation, and "absolute and opaque control" of financial resources. They also criticize the coordinator's "distorted public projection", believing his constant presence generated "confusion among the membership and growing unease".
They state they informed the PP of Sevilla about this situation, "without measures being taken". They consider the coordinator's actions to be a "repeated usurpation" of their powers, making "continuity of our mandate under conditions of legality and democratic normality impossible". Therefore, they call for an "internal reflection" within the PP of Sevilla to "listen more to local teams".
