The Alcázar of Seville has been the setting for a unique event celebrating the fifth centenary of the marriage between Charles V and Isabel of Portugal. More than twenty designers from the Center for Higher Artistic Design Education of Seville have presented their reinterpretations of Renaissance bridal fashion.
This parade, named Carolus, pays tribute to the aesthetics of the era, highlighting elements such as voluminous skirts, farthingales, damask fabrics, and corseted bodices, trends that are re-emerging in current fashion. The choice of the Alcázar is not coincidental, as it was the venue where the wedding took place on March 11, 1526.
In addition to its commemorative value, the event has served as the starting point for the XXV edition of the Andalusia Fashion Week (SIMA 41), solidifying Seville as a benchmark in design and fashion.
