The service disruption, which began on February 4 due to a retaining wall collapse on the tracks near Álora, forced travelers to use alternative plans. During this period, Renfe was the only company to offer a solution, combining bus journeys between Málaga and Antequera with high-speed train travel to Madrid.
With confirmation from Adif, the three main operators, Renfe, Iryo, and Ouigo, will resume their direct routes between the Costa del Sol and the capital. This will allow users to plan their trips with greater convenience, especially in anticipation of the May long weekend.
For April 30, Renfe will offer services starting at 12:50 PM, with a typical journey time of approximately three hours. Other available times for that day include departures at 4:48 PM and 8:50 PM. For May 1, the offer expands to eight high-speed trains, including Avlo services, with departures from 7:15 AM.
Meanwhile, Iryo will have three daily departures from Málaga on April 30, at 11:39 AM, 6:40 PM, and 8:40 PM. On May 1, the Italian company will increase its services to five trains. Finally, Ouigo will have two trains on April 30, at 1:46 PM and 9:10 PM, adding an early morning connection at 6:29 AM from May 1.
