Airbus's plant in Seville has secured a new contract to manufacture two C295 aircraft in a tactical transport configuration for the Royal Thai Air Force. The units will be assembled at the Hispalense factory, with delivery planned for early 2029.

This order strengthens the Seville plant's position as a global benchmark in the production of this aircraft and consolidates its role as an industrial engine for the city. The two new aircraft will join the three C295 s already operated by the Royal Thai Army since 2016, bringing the total number of this model in their military inventory to five.

The C295, manufactured in Seville, is noted for its versatility, capable of carrying up to 70 soldiers or 49 paratroopers, operating from unprepared airstrips, and performing cargo drops, in addition to medical evacuation missions.

The agreement also includes a collaboration with Thai Aviation Industries (TAI) for fleet maintenance and technician training, expanding the industrial scope of the project.

The C295 model holds an 85% global market share, with 333 orders from 39 countries and over 750,000 flight hours accumulated worldwide. Thailand thus joins the seven operators of the aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region.
