The Sevillian cooperative Agrosevilla has finalized the acquisition of the Riojan company Comercial Rioverde, a strategic operation that consolidates its presence in the pickle sector and boosts its international expansion.

This integration allows Agrosevilla, one of the world's leading producers and exporters of table olives, to diversify its product portfolio and increase its share in the pickle market. The Riojan firm, founded in 1976, holds over 14% of the national market in this segment and will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year.
Agrosevilla's global commercial network, with a presence in over 80 countries and subsidiaries in the United States and Italy, will be key to promoting the Rioverde brand in international markets. Furthermore, the operation will generate industrial and logistical synergies, optimizing processes and reinforcing the group's operational efficiency.
Headquartered in Seville capital, Agrosevilla, founded in 1977, is made up of 13 cooperative societies representing more than 4,500 farmers. It operates four factories, including the main one in La Roda de Andalucía, and those in Estepa, La Puebla de Cazalla (Seville), and the recently incorporated Rioverde in Logroño.
Last March, Agrosevilla also integrated the first-degree cooperative Sor Ángela de la Cruz, from Estepa, which contributes 540 members and a committed production volume of 9,163,000 kilograms of table olives. This strategy of organic and inorganic growth aims to increase global sales, with a forecast of reaching 250 million euros by the end of 2025, according to statements by Julio Roda, general director of Agrosevilla.
Despite challenges such as tariffs in the United States, a market that accounts for 20% of its turnover, the company maintains its commitment to this country and is exploring new markets such as China, India, and Southeast Asia. Agrosevilla employs 600 workers across its five centers and has an annual production capacity exceeding 80,000 tons.
