The AP-4 highway experienced significant traffic jams following a spectacular accident involving three vehicles, two cars and a truck, within the municipality of El Cuervo. The incident, which occurred early in the morning, necessitated a complete closure of the road to allow emergency teams to intervene.
Due to the severity of the injuries, a medical helicopter was deployed to attend to the victims at the scene before their urgent transfer. Firefighters from the Provincial Fire Consortium of Cádiz, based in Jerez, were involved for over two hours to secure the area and extricate those trapped in the damaged vehicles.
The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has confirmed the reopening of general traffic on the highway, although the right lane heading towards Seville remains closed. Authorities have established a marked detour to manage the accumulated vehicular flow, which had stretched for several kilometers.
Drivers transiting through the area are advised to exercise maximum caution as cleanup and restoration efforts continue on the main connection route between Cadiz and Seville.
