These awards, coinciding with the celebration of World Tourism Day this Sunday, September 27, will honor the work of Bodega Doña Felisa Viña Amaya, Hotel Montelirio, La Taberna bar, and the Benaoján City Council for its Chacina Fair.
The Councilor for Tourism and head of Turismo de Ronda, S. A., Ángel Martínez, highlighted the importance of these awards in recognizing companies that contribute to the Ronda brand. "Visitors come to Ronda for its natural heritage, its gastronomy, its monuments… But they become loyal because of the excellent professionals we have in the sector," stated Martínez, adding that the awards are a way to thank them for their daily work.
Among the awardees, Bodega Doña Felisa Viña Amaya has recently inaugurated its new facilities near the archaeological site of Acinipo, with an investment exceeding ten million euros supported by the Junta de Andalucía. The winery, led by the Losantos family, aims to expand its production and enhance its wine tourism offerings.
The Hotel Montelirio, a four-star establishment located in the historic center of Ronda, occupies a 17th-century manor house. Martínez described it as "another family business" known not only for its accommodation but also for its restaurant with spectacular views.
Regarding La Taberna, situated in the Plaza del Socorro, its ability to reinterpret traditional cuisine with a new approach was highlighted. The councilor thanked Carlos for his service, a figure highly regarded in the city.
In the Serranía category, the Chacina Fair of Benaoján, organized by the Benaoján City Council, will be recognized. This event, declared a Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest by the Provincial Council of Málaga, celebrates the town's century-old tradition in the production of cured meats and takes place in early December.
