The Ronda City Council has initiated renovation and expansion works on the children's park in El Fuerte. Upon completion, the park will double its current surface area, increasing from approximately 100 square meters to 220 square meters.
The mayor of Ronda, Mari Paz Fernández, visited the site on Monday to oversee the project. The initiative has an investment of 58,829 euros and is part of the municipal plan to enhance public spaces and equip various areas of the city.
The project has a three-month execution period, with the park expected to be ready by the end of September. "This project responds to a demand from families in El Fuerte, which we are fulfilling; soon, the children of this neighborhood will be able to enjoy these new facilities," stated the mayor.
The work focuses on remodeling the existing children's park, which was in a state of disrepair, including repairing the play equipment and installing continuous rubber safety surfacing. Additionally, a new area will be created, expanding the space by utilizing the adjacent upper plaza area.
Furthermore, the fountain in the area will be reactivated, and six trees will be planted to provide shade for the park.
