The Convento de Santo Domingo hosted the presentation of this gala, promoted by the Abul Beka Cultural Folkloric Association and the Coros y Danzas de Ronda, with support from the Málaga Provincial Council and the Unicaja Foundation. Attendees included provincial deputy Mari Carmen Martínez, Antonio Lasanta from the Unicaja Foundation, Manuel García from the organizing association, and the Councilor for Festivals, Rebeca Muñoz.
This year, the Folkloric Galas will feature groups from India, France, Mexico, and Easter Island, in addition to Cáceres. Spain will be represented, as usual, by the Coros y Danzas de Ronda. Manuel García announced that, due to reasons beyond the organization's control, Turkey will not be participating as previously announced.
The official inauguration will take place on Thursday, August 27th, at 8:00 PM, in the Plaza del Socorro. Following this, there will be an evening event in the Plaza Teniente Arce, which will include a bar service benefiting the Real Hermandad de la Virgen de la Cabeza. García highlighted that "all attendees will have the opportunity to dance with the groups and learn a little more about their culture through dance".
The participating groups will also take part in the Folkloric Mass on August 30th at the Colegiata de Santa María and in the Fair Parade on September 1st.
The performance schedule is as follows: on Friday, August 28th, Easter Island, Ciudad Real, Mexico, and Ronda will perform; on Saturday, August 29th, it will be the turn of France, India, Mexico, and Ronda; and on Sunday, the Coros y Danzas de Ronda will share the stage with all participating groups in adapted performances.
Tickets are already on sale at the establishment Hispania Flamenco for 7 euros per gala. A three-day pass for 15 euros has also been made available. Additionally, tickets can be purchased at the Auditorium two hours before each event.
Mari Carmen Martínez reiterated the Provincial Council's commitment to this event, emphasizing its extension to the towns of the Serranía. This year, the groups will visit Montejaque, Benaoján, Arriate, Jimera de Líbar, Gaucín, Algatocín, and Cartajima. "The Provincial Council will continue to support this event, which not only stays in Ronda but extends throughout the Serranía, bringing its cultures to the region," she stated.
Antonio Lasanta added that "the importance of the Galas also lies in them being a meeting of cultures that sends a message of peace, harmony, and solidarity." Meanwhile, Councilor for Festivals, Rebeca Muñoz, called for public participation.
