The majority of the investment, €60,000, will be dedicated to repairing the building's roofs, which were severely affected by the storms last winter. These works, along with upgrading the obsolete climate control system, aim to address dampness issues detected throughout the theater's interior, including the stalls, stage, and dressing rooms.
Additionally, €30,000 has been allocated for interior and exterior painting, which has already begun and will last three weeks. The project also includes €15,000 for the dressing room and backstage area.
The delegate for Public Works, Concha Muñoz, highlighted this as a historic intervention, representing the most significant investment in the theater since its opening in 1994. These improvements are expected to ensure the cultural facilities are in perfect condition for the upcoming September season.
