The Roquetas de Mar 2026 Job Fair gathered over 250 people this Thursday, aiming to facilitate direct contact between active job seekers, companies, public administrations, and entities specializing in socio-labor inclusion. The event was organized by Action Against Hunger in collaboration with the Roquetas de Mar City Council and supported by the Provincial Council and the Regional Government of Andalusia.
Held at the Multipurpose Building of the Port of Roquetas de Mar, the event brought together more than twenty companies from sectors such as commerce, human resources, energy, agriculture, automotive, industry, socio-health care, and services. Participants from Action Against Hunger programs, including Vives Emplea Saludable Roquetas de Mar, Vives Emplea Saludable Mujeres Almería, Fotovoltaic Employment School Women Almería, and Generation IN Province of Almería, also attended.
Ana Rey Asensio, social inclusion programs manager for Action Against Hunger in Eastern Andalusia, highlighted that since 2024, they have supported nearly 700 people in the province of Almería. She noted that the fair provides an opportunity to connect participants with companies seeking talent and to generate new employment opportunities.
The opening ceremony included Francisco González Bellido, Territorial Delegate for Social Services, Families, and Equality of the Regional Government of Andalusia in Almería; Esther Álvarez Cappa, Special Delegate for European Initiatives and Entrepreneurship of the Provincial Council of Almería; Patricia Maldonado Pérez, Delegate of the "la Caixa" Foundation in Andalusia; and Laura Mª Vaquero Valiente, a participant in the Vives Emplea Saludable Roquetas de Mar 2026 program.
Esther Álvarez, Deputy for European Initiatives and Entrepreneurship of the Provincial Council of Almería, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in facilitating direct contact between candidates and companies, allowing for a firsthand understanding of job seekers' capabilities and motivations. She stressed that collaboration among administrations is crucial for offering better opportunities.
Francisco González Bellido, Delegate for Social Services, Family, and Equality of the Regional Government of Andalusia, stated that social inclusion and employment go hand in hand. He mentioned programs like ERACIS+ that provide resources to those facing difficulties in accessing the labor market, underscoring the collaboration between administrations, social entities, and businesses.
Amós García Hueso, Territorial Delegate for Employment, Enterprise, and Self-Employment, and for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Development, and Public Administration, congratulated the Roquetas de Mar City Council and Action Against Hunger for organizing the fair, highlighting the commitment of the Almería society to employment, particularly for vulnerable individuals.
During the event, a Dialogue for Employment took place, featuring representatives from the Andalusian Employment Service, Primark, Roquehogar, ERACIS+ Roquetas de Mar, and participants from Action Against Hunger, who shared experiences and analyzed key challenges for improving labor market access.
The fair also included a professional photography space for resumes and digital profiles, and an orientation zone where various entities from Roquetas de Mar presented available social, training, and employment resources. Participants included the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE), the Marble School of Fines, and the EURES Network.
Companies such as Adaro, Adecco, Audal, Cash Borosa, Caser Residencial Almería, Clece, Critt ETT, Ecoinver, Eulen Flexiplan, Fasoan Fashion, Ilunion Textilcare Vícar, InfoJobs, Inserta Empleo-Fundación ONCE, Integra CEE, Primark, Randstad, Residencia Emera, Roquehogar, and Sistemas de Energía were present.
The Job Fair and its associated programs are funded by the European Social Fund+, the Provincial Council of Almería, the Ministry of Social Services, Families, and Equality of the Regional Government of Andalusia, the "la Caixa" Foundation, and the Iberdrola Spain Foundation.
Since 2024, Action Against Hunger has supported 698 individuals in Almería through its socio-labor inclusion programs, achieving a 52% employment insertion rate and supporting the creation of 19 business initiatives.
