The Housing Delegation of the Ronda City Council initiated the registry last March to channel public housing demand in the city. To date, 550 applications have been registered, a number that continues to grow as the deadline remains open.
The Councilor for Housing, Cristina Durán, explained that interested parties can formalize their registration both in person at the Social Services Center of the City Council, on calle Montes, and online through the municipal electronic headquarters. Technicians are reviewing documentation and opening files, and many citizens are already receiving their VPO housing application certificates, such as those being built in the La Dehesa neighborhood.
Additionally, the delegation manages rental assistance from the Regional Government of Andalusia, having processed nearly eighty applications totaling around 256,000 euros, with an average of 3,600 euros per subsidy, covering annual rent for vulnerable families.
Furthermore, efforts have been made to recover and reallocate 13 social housing units in La Dehesa, owned by the Agency for Housing and Rehabilitation of Andalusia (AVRA). These vacant homes, unoccupied due to various circumstances, will be reassigned to individuals and families in need. The Ronda City Council, for its part, owns 33 social housing units, all currently allocated.
