Ronda City Council has announced the special traffic and transport plan for the Pedro Romero Fair and Festivals, aiming to facilitate access and ensure safety.

Municipal Delegate for Traffic, Jorge Fernández, presented the plan for the Pedro Romero Fair and Festivals. Various public transport options will be available to reach the ‘Ángel Harillo’ fairgrounds. The popular ‘little train’ will operate from Tuesday at 8:00 PM until 3:00 AM daily, starting from Mariano Soubirón street, with stops on Martínez Astein avenue, reaching the fair entrance.
Urban bus lines will be reinforced with four services running between 9:30 PM and 4:00 AM, extending to 6:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. Two small buses will connect the bus station to the fairgrounds, passing through Plaza de España, Mariano Soubirón, Blas Infante, Martínez Astein avenue, and the petrol station on Málaga avenue. Two larger buses will serve peripheral areas, one from the sports center in San Francisco neighborhood, El Arenal neighborhood, and La Planilla, and another from the pharmacy in La Dehesa towards the bus station, with stops on avenues of Andalucía and Málaga. The taxi service will also increase to about twenty vehicles.
For those using private vehicles, two parking areas will be established, managed by non-profit associations Alfaro and Ayuca. One will be at the old fairgrounds, and a new one will be located in the city center on Andalucía avenue, next to the train station, offering 180 spaces through an agreement with ADIF, to ease demand in the area.
Head of Local Police, Miguel Aranda, detailed the safety and mobility measures, emphasizing a special operation to ensure the normal development of events and the safety of pedestrians and road users. Temporary traffic cuts and restrictions are planned in high-concentration areas like Plaza de España, Virgen De La Paz street, and fairground access points.
Citizens are urged to follow the instructions of the Local Police and signage. Traffic diversions will be implemented progressively and kept as brief as possible. On Friday, one lane will be restricted at the intersection of Espinel street and Virgen De La Paz for the installation of the fair's main entrance arch. On Tuesday, September 1st, the fair parade will begin at 8:30 PM, with traffic closures from 3:00 PM in the upper part of Jerez street for float assembly.
The parade route will start at the Hotel Catalonia Reina Victoria, proceeding through Jerez street, Plaza de la Merced, Virgen De La Paz, Espinel, Málaga avenue, Andrés Aguilar Gracia, and the three roundabouts leading to the fairgrounds. The parade operation will run from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
For bullfighting events, traffic will be cut from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday for the novillada. On Saturday, due to the Goyesca bullfight and the rejoneo bullfight, a complete traffic closure will be in effect from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM. On Sunday, the carriage competition will require traffic closures from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
Aranda requested patience and cooperation from citizens due to the extraordinary concentration of people and vehicles, which will necessitate modifications to usual traffic patterns.
