This new tourist infrastructure will be located on the outskirts of the urban center, in the area known as 'Cerrejón'. This strategic location offers impressive panoramic views of the Genal Valley and is close to the municipal swimming pool and the Fray Leopoldo Interpretation Center.
The ongoing works include leveling and preparing the land, installing drinking water connections, setting up manholes for wastewater disposal, and constructing a side wall, among other essential service improvements.
The project has a budget of 29,983.04 euros, funded by the Ministry of Justice, Local Administration and Public Function of the Junta de Andalucía. This investment is part of a subsidy line for local entities aimed at acquiring equipment and carrying out actions in public buildings, constructions, and facilities, within the framework of the Municipal Cooperation Plan.
The 'Cerrejón' area has undergone various improvements in recent years, including the recovery of an old paved threshing floor, the construction of a large wall, and the cleaning and clearing of the natural environment, thus favoring the maintenance and regeneration of the mountain. With the creation of this motorhome area, it is expected to revitalize tourism and the economy of both the municipality and the region.
