The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, has presented the content of the Andalusian Congress on Road Accidents, which will be held at the Vícar Road Safety Education Center and the five-star Hotel de la Envía Golf. The event will feature the participation of Ana María Tárrago Ruiz, Chief Prosecutor of Andalusia, Ceuta, and Melilla, and Luis Carlos Rodríguez León, Delegate Prosecutor for Road Safety, along with the delegate prosecutors for Road Safety from the eight Andalusian provinces and Ceuta and Melilla. Commanders and personnel from the Civil Guard, Emergencies of Andalusia 112, Civil Protection, and Firefighters will also attend.
Antonio Bonilla emphasized the importance of sharing experiences, unifying criteria, and refining joint action protocols. "Inter-institutional cooperation is not just an organizational objective; it is a moral duty to citizens to minimize harm, expedite rescues, and provide comprehensive technical and human care to victims and their families," stated the mayor.
The sessions, coordinated by the Road Safety Prosecutor Natalia Izquierdo and the head of Vícar's Road Safety Education program, Miguel Ángel Fernández, will address topics such as unified digital accident reports, best practices for immediate victim care, new Prosecutor's Office instructions on criminological reports, the use of personal cameras as evidence, and updates to regulations on personal mobility vehicles.
The congress will conclude on Friday at the Plaza Anfiteatro in La Gangosa with a practical exercise for fifth-grade primary school students from all schools in Vícar, involving personnel from the Local Police of Vícar, 061, Firefighters, and Civil Protection.
The choice of Vícar as the venue for the congress is a recognition of its over twenty years of experience in promoting a culture of safety, highlighted by the creation of the Road Safety Education program in 2006 and the accreditation of its center in 2011. The municipality has also received awards such as the Local Governance award from the FAMP in 2024 and the Good Practices in Road Safety Education award from ATESVAN in 2019.
