The 21st edition of the Road Safety program began this week in Vícar. The first participants were five-year-old Infant students from CEIP Federico García Lorca. The sessions combine theoretical explanations adapted to their age in the classroom with a practical part on the Traffic Track, where children learn road rules and signage using go-karts and bicycles.
During this second part of the activity, the families of the infant students can attend to share the experience with their children. The next groups to participate in the program during the 2026/2027 academic year will be third and sixth-grade students from CEIP Federico García Lorca, Nuestra Señora de la Merced, Sant Sylvain D´Anjou, and Blas Infante. These students will walk from their schools to the Road Safety Education Center accompanied by the teaching officer.
This municipal initiative, now in its 21st year, has established itself as a benchmark for Safety Culture in Vícar. Over three thousand students are expected to pass through the classrooms and tracks of the Road Safety Education Center this course. The program is open not only to students from Infant, Primary, Secondary, and Vocational Training but also offers specific sessions for other groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, and migrants.
