The Ronda City Council, via the Social Rights Department, continues to develop activities to foster social inclusion and improve the quality of life for residents of La Dehesa and El Fuerte. These initiatives are part of the ERACIS+ Strategy, a program subsidized by the European Union and the Regional Government of Andalusia, through the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality, and co-financed by the European Social Fund+.
Participants undertook a walking route from La Dehesa to the social ecological gardens of the Spanish Red Cross, where they learned about the project's operation. Subsequently, they visited the Arab Baths of Ronda.
The municipal delegate for Social Rights, Cristina Durán, highlighted the importance of these complementary activities to the ERACIS+ program, which promote healthy lifestyle habits, foster coexistence, and bring the city's resources closer to the participants. She emphasized the collaboration between the City Council, the Spanish Red Cross, and the Naim Foundation.
For his part, the president of the Local Assembly of the Spanish Red Cross in Ronda, Antonio Lasanta, thanked the municipal support and recalled the trajectory of the social ecological gardens, a 14-year joint project contributing to the improvement of nutrition, training, and well-being for numerous families.
The social worker for the ERACIS+ program, Noelia, explained that the activity responds to the demand from the participants themselves, aiming to strengthen ties between neighbors, create meeting spaces, and promote knowledge of the local environment and heritage. New activities related to coexistence, employment, and training are planned for the coming months.
