The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, announced the awarding of the works contract for the transformation of the Social Center in Llanos de Vícar. This project, presented in July, will be funded by European funds through the Integrated Action Plan of Vícar (PAI- Vícar Ciudad Verde).
The renovation, co-financed at 85% by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER- Plan EDIL), within the framework of the Multi-regional Operational Program of Spain (POPE 2021-2027), has a budget of €320,972.73. The awarded company also commits to the integral maintenance of the property for 48 months.
The project for the new Social Center, located at C/ Mar Rojo, 2, covers a built area of 242m2. The work will include comprehensive reform, improvement of insulation, and energy efficiency. The interior will house two multipurpose rooms (70 and 60 m2, with a capacity for 120 people) for social, cultural, and training activities. These rooms will open onto a central outdoor space with a pergola, expanding the use possibilities and the connection with public space. The center will be completed with two offices and a restroom area.
With this action, the Social Center of Llanos de Vícar will complement the range of facilities available to residents, contributing to the improvement of social and community life.
