Users of the Roma Community Program in Vícar have participated in a new edition of Know Your Town to discover more about the local heritage. Several families from the neighborhoods of La Lomilla and La Cimilla embarked on an excursion to the Villa de Vícar.
During the visit, participants toured its charming streets, squares, and iconic corners, many adorned with murals and graffiti that beautify the town for the Paseando entre Velas celebration. The open-air museum and the oriental theme of the latest edition captured the attendees' interest. They also visited notable historical and heritage sites such as the Church-fortress and the washhouse.
The day concluded with a healthy snack, a social gathering where families, especially the children, shared what they had learned throughout the day.
The Know Your Town program is an initiative by the Ayuntamiento de Vícar aimed at bringing the municipality's historical, cultural, and hydraulic legacy closer to the population, with a particular focus on the school community. This activity aligns with the general objectives of the Roma Community Program, under the purview of the Consejería de Inclusión Social, Juventud, Familias e Igualdad, for the year 2026.
