The Local Security Board of Vícar, meeting at the Youth and Sports Center, was the setting for the approval of these important updates. The session was co-chaired by the general secretary of the Government Subdelegation in Almería and the mayor of Vícar.
Among the adopted measures, the modification of the operational procedure to guarantee compliance with judicial protection orders for victims of gender violence stands out. Furthermore, a new coordination protocol has been established between the State Security Forces and Corps and the Local Police in this area. Both initiatives are part of the 2021 adherence agreement to the Viogen system, in which the Local Police of Vícar has actively participated since its inception.
This agreement will allow Vícar Local Police officers to optimize the application of specific protocols and procedures for assessing and managing the risk of gender violence, carried out through the Viogen system. To this end, training and specialization will be provided to all Local Police members involved in responding to gender violence situations.
Additionally, support can be requested from the Coordination Unit for Violence of the Government Subdelegation, whose role is to promote greater training for professionals involved in the execution of this agreement. The use of the Viogen system by officers will also be encouraged, both for consultations and for the input and updating of significant data for victim protection, provided by the Central Viogen Administration.
During the Local Security Board meeting, other relevant issues were also addressed, such as a detailed assessment of the evolution of crime data in the municipality during the last quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of this year. The general secretary of the Government Subdelegation reaffirmed the commitment to citizen security and the strengthening of available resources to meet the needs of the population and prevent criminal activities. New proposals for the Municipal Security Plan were put forward, and specific actions of interest for local security were discussed.
