The Vícar Sports City is set to get new artificial turf on its two football 7 fields. The Vícar City Council has given the green light to the replacement project, an initiative aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of these municipal sports facilities.
As detailed by the mayor, Antonio Bonilla, the work will involve removing the current turf and installing a new playing surface with superior technical characteristics. It will feature a technical infill composed of silica sand and CBR rubber, optimizing playing conditions and safety for athletes.
The facilities at the Sports City are a key hub for sports activities in Vícar, hosting hundreds of children in sports schools, as well as competitions and events. Therefore, the council is committed to their continuous care and improvement.
Following the project's approval by the Local Government Board, the next step will be the tender process for awarding the works. The goal is for the new fields to be enjoyed by citizens "very soon," as emphasized by the mayor.
