The Sierra de Gádor will be the main stage for the Peñón de Bernal Trail, a competition notable for its uniqueness in combining physical challenge with the enjoyment of the natural environment and rich local history. The event, organized by the Sports Department of Vícar City Council, not only aims to test athletes but also to contribute to a charitable cause in support of Cruz Roja.
“"It is a unique sporting event that runs through an exceptional route such as the Sierra de Gádor."
The race will offer two modalities, trail running and hiking, both with a route of 12.7 kilometers and a positive elevation gain of +720 meters. The start for trail participants is scheduled for 09:30h, followed by hikers. Participants will have the opportunity to admire panoramic views of the Poniente Almeriense, the Peñón de Bernal, and the Fuente del Tartel, among other points of interest.
Given the unique natural environment where the competition will take place, access to the start and finish area will be restricted. To facilitate participants' arrival, a shuttle bus service has been arranged, operating from the Frutas Rocalla company parking lot between 08:00h and 08:45h, with return to the same point from the finish line. The Vícar City Council invites all registered participants to enjoy this initiative, with the hope that it will consolidate its position as a benchmark in the mountain sports calendar.
