During a recent Justice Forum held at the 'Ciudad de Adra' Auditorium, the Popular Party of Adra showcased significant advancements towards the launch of the Municipal Justice Office. This gathering brought together various legal professionals, as well as party members and regional candidates.
“"The future Municipal Office will allow professionals in the sector to carry out a greater number of procedures without needing to travel, which will result in significant time savings."
A spokesperson for the Popular Party of Adra highlighted that Adra has been selected by the Junta de Andalucía as a pilot municipality for this project in the province of Almería. The main goal is for citizens and professionals to be able to manage most judicial procedures directly from Adra, avoiding trips to Berja or the provincial capital of Almería.
Construction of the future office, located on Trafalgar Street, in the former Cáritas premises, is in a very advanced stage and is expected to be completed by the end of May. This project is considered a crucial step to improve public services and bring administration closer to citizens.
At the forum, a Justice coordinator for the Andalusian PP explained the new model of the Municipal Justice Office, which will replace the old justice of the peace courts, in accordance with the Public Justice Service Efficiency Law. It was noted that almost half of the population of the judicial district of Berja resides in Adra, underscoring the need for these services. Procedures that can be carried out include taking statements, requesting free legal assistance, and accessing victim support and mediation services.
Furthermore, improvements promoted by the Andalusian Government in Free Justice were discussed, such as reduced payment deadlines and increased amounts. Emphasis was also placed on the role of lawyers in promoting mediation and alternative dispute resolution methods, thanks to an agreement between the Junta de Andalucía and the Andalusian Council of Bar Associations.
Regarding judicial infrastructure, key projects in the province were reviewed, such as the new judicial headquarters in Roquetas de Mar, and future actions in Vera and Vélez-Rubio, in addition to the Huércal-Overa project, currently in the bidding phase. It was affirmed that the Judicial Infrastructure Plan 2023-2030 is the most ambitious in the country, aiming to invest in all judicial districts.
