Although the league championship concluded weeks ago, the excitement continues in Primera Andaluza with the provincial playoff phase. Only two teams, Poli Ejido and Pavía, still harbor aspirations of promotion to the sixth tier of Spanish football, aiming to join La Cañada next season.
Pavía earned their ticket to the final with great difficulty, leveraging their superior league position. After a narrow first-leg victory against Vera, the 'arlequinados' saw their opponents equalize the tie in the return match. The aggregate score forced a reliance on league standings, where Pavía, who finished third, edged out Vera, who finished fourth, to advance.
In the other semi-final, Poli Ejido demonstrated their dominance with a resounding victory. Having already won the first leg, the 'celestes' thrashed Huércal five-one at Santo Domingo, thus sealing their qualification. The team from Poniente took an early lead with a penalty converted by a local player before the twentieth minute, although Huércal managed to equalize temporarily.
However, in the second half, Poli Ejido unleashed their offense, scoring several goals that decided the match and the tie. With this triumph, the Ejido-based team is preparing to face Pavía in the grand final. The first leg will be played this Sunday at Tito Pedro, while the return match will take place the following weekend at Santo Domingo.
