The celebrations in honor of the Virgen de la Asunción and San José concluded this Sunday in Las Cabañuelas, Vícar, with a solemn mass, procession, and fireworks. Mayor Antonio Bonilla emphasized the “exemplary participation and involvement of the residents” in the festivities. The Coro Rociero A Nuestro Aire and the Agrupación Musical Virgen de las Angustias accompanied the religious part of the event.
The last weekend of July offered a packed agenda of activities, including the Youth Night, a float parade, games at the Municipal Pool, a floral offering, a cycling tour, and a foam party. The evening festivities featured performances by the Orquesta Pentagrama, DJ Efe Jefe, Orquesta Milenium, DJ Felipe Rubio, and DJ Caprizo.
The initiative of associative groups was key to the celebration. The Venta-Cabañuelas Neighborhood Association managed the bar in Plaza Cervantes and organized events such as a sangria tasting and a ribbon race. The Hermandad del Santísimo Cristo de la Paz y Nuestra Señora de los Dolores was in charge of the bar at the Plaza Anfiteatro Pueblos de América. Local businesses and hospitality establishments also contributed to the festive atmosphere, especially during the Midday Fair.
Security was a priority, with a coordination effort led by Mayor Antonio Bonilla and the Councilor for Citizen Security, Evaristo López. The presence of the Local Police and Civil Protection ensured the smooth running of activities, allowing citizens to enjoy the festival days with complete peace of mind.
Mayor Antonio Bonilla expressed his “joy and satisfaction” in concluding the festivals, and anticipated that the upcoming celebrations in September, in the Villa de Vícar and La Envía, will once again feature the exemplary neighborhood spirit of the residents.
