With only one matchday remaining in the provincial top-tier championship in Almería, the La Cañada squad has maintained its impressive unbeaten streak. Following their recent two-nil victory against Villa de Albox, the team from the Almerian neighborhood continues without losing a single match this season, having only drawn four times.
This achievement adds to their confirmed promotion to División de Honor, a milestone reached last week when they were crowned champions of the competition. The previous matchday also saw their immediate pursuers, Poli Ejido and Pavía, fail to secure victories. Poli Ejido drew nil-nil in their visit to Las Norias, while Pavía suffered a narrow defeat against Español del Alquián in the capital derby.
The other teams completing the play-off spots, Vera and Huércal de Almería, did manage to win. Vera thrashed bottom-placed Atlético Benahadux eight-nil, and Huércal de Almería defeated Vícar Cultural two-nil at the Estadio Municipal de Vícar.
At the bottom of the table, Balerma confirmed their relegation to Segunda Andaluza after a two-all draw with Comarca de Níjar. On the other hand, Viator secured their stay in Primera Andaluza by beating Berja two-one at the Antonio Palenzuela. The final matchday, with nothing at stake for the league leaders, will see La Cañada host Las Norias to conclude a historic season.
