The local governing board recently approved the project for the improvement and adaptation of the roof covering the petanque courts in Santa María del Águila, located next to the Cultural Center. This initiative has a budget of 59,802 euros and an estimated execution period of three months.
The main intervention will focus on the comprehensive renovation of the roof, incorporating a more efficient construction solution tailored to current needs. The new roof will be built using an in situ sandwich panel system, designed to optimize thermal performance and significantly enhance comfort inside the facility.
Furthermore, the project includes the installation of a static ridge ventilator, which will promote natural ventilation of the space. Translucent polycarbonate corrugated sheets will also be integrated to create overhead lighting strips, thereby maximizing the entry of natural light into the interior of the venue.
Complementing these upgrades, the existing metal structure will be fine-tuned, and the interior will be refurbished with cleaning, treatment, and painting work. These actions will contribute to optimizing the overall conditions of the facility, solidifying this space as an active and functional sports amenity for the residents and users of El Ejido.
