The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía, the Municipal Sports Institute of Seville City Council, and the Diputación de Sevilla.
The Guadalquivir River basin will host this competition, which will bring together over five hundred athletes. Fifteen clubs from various provinces such as Seville, Cádiz, Málaga, and Almería will participate, along with invited teams from Madrid and Great Britain.
A total of 518 rowers across different categories, from juniors, will compete in this regional double event. Participating clubs include Club Náutico Sevilla, Real Círculo de Labradores, Club de Remo Guadalquivir 86, C.D. Remo San Jerónimo, C.D. Remeros y Piragüistas Veteranos de Sevilla, Club de Remo Linense, and Real Club Mediterráneo de Málaga. Invited teams include Madrid's C.D.B. The province of Almería reaffirms its commitment to high-level sports by sending its best fleet to CEAR La Cartuja. With Club Tiempo Libre El Ejido as its main standard-bearer, the Almerian rowers will face some of the most prominent national and international clubs in one of the most demanding events on the Andalusian calendar.
The Andalusia Longboat Championship will be contested over distances of 500, 1,000, 1,500, and 2,000 meters. The modalities include double and four scull, coxless four, and eight with coxswain. The Andalusia Cup, for its part, expands the program with events for veterans, adapted rowing, and the BCS category, for women who have overcome breast cancer.
The competition will feature a total of 78 heats or direct finals, with the start scheduled for 9:55 AM. The day will conclude at 4:35 PM with the final of the mixed absolute four scull modality, after which medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each discipline and to the best clubs.
