The Málaga City Council has once again organized this parade, aiming to highlight and empower the city's senior population. The participants, comprising 88 women and 23 men, were chosen during a casting call held on February 23.
Selection criteria included being 65 years or older, availability for rehearsals, aptitude for modeling, and ensuring that sizes were available from collaborating fashion brands. After the selection process, groups were formed and assigned to various fashion houses that generously provided their garments.
Each group was guided by a dance or theater instructor from the municipal workshops for seniors, who oversaw the choreography rehearsals for the upcoming fashion show. This event is part of a series of activities that will culminate in late May with the Senior Citizens' Week.
“"This event will continue in late May with Senior Citizens' Week and, as in previous editions, it benefits from the collaboration of various Málaga companies that provide clothing and accessories, as well as hairdressing and makeup services."
Several Málaga-based companies are collaborating on the initiative, contributing clothing, accessories, and beauty services. Participating brands include Bell Novias Alta Costura, Boutique Gloria, Mar Calzados, Dos Lunas Moda Flamenca y Complementos, Impecable Modas, Franju-Eclipse, Modas Chiquita, Fitflamc-Fitness Flamenco, Sol Woman Moda, Oportunidades Málaga, Fashion E-Business School, and Antonio Eloy.
