The festival, which has become a key summer event, is celebrating its twelfth edition in Torre del Mar, Málaga. Attendees of various ages are gathering for the event, noted for its diverse atmosphere. Víctor Campos, a resident of Torre del Mar and a regular at all editions, shared that the festival is "a date in the summer that reminds you that you are still young."
This year's edition features a varied lineup including artists from different genres. From pop icons like David Bisbal and Ana Mena, to urban scene references such as Myke Towers and Dellafuente. There is also space for indie and rock with bands like Alcalá Norte and Break the senses.
Some attendees, like Sergio Moral, who attended the first edition in 2015, have come with family members. Others, like José Ferreira and his companion, nostalgically recall previous editions, noting a shift in the prevalence of rock music. This year, they eagerly await performances by Medina Azahara and La Pegatina.
For football fans, the festival offers a screening of the World Cup semi-final match between Spain and Belgium on a giant screen, albeit without sound to avoid interfering with the festival's schedule. Floreal Montero and Daniel Morales anticipate an "easy 3-0" for the Spanish team.
Eli Fernández and Saray Jiménez, from Córdoba and Jaén respectively, are enjoying their first Weekend Beach Festival. They express surprise at the diversity of the audience, finding attendees "a bit older than I expected."
The spaciousness of the venue is another aspect appreciated by attendees like Nati Díaz and her family, who have been coming for three years and have brought the youngest members for the first time. Her daughter, Rocío Frías, is looking forward to seeing Myke Towers despite his performance in the early hours of the morning.
On the first day, artists such as Idaira Siles, winner of the Emmerge contest; the Málaga-based band Break the senses; singer Jp Fernández, blending flamenco and urban genres; the emblematic Andalusian rock group Medina Azahara; the Madrid band Boikot; Argentinian DJ Vilu Gontero; the Catalan rumba group La Pegatina; and urban DJ Ballesteros DJ performed.
