This new equipment, developed by DEKA, is already operational at the Vithas Limonar medical center and has been integrated into the hospital group's Oculoplastic and Periocular Aesthetic Surgery Area. Its technology is designed for interventions in a particularly sensitive area due to its proximity to the eye and the characteristics of the skin covering this region.
The incorporation of this device expands the available options for treating various conditions and procedures related to the eyelids and eye contour. It is a platform specifically designed for ophthalmological and periocular applications, where precision is an especially relevant factor.
“"Having a specific CO₂ laser for the periocular area represents a significant advance because it allows us to work in two ways: on the one hand, to perform resurfacing to improve skin quality and, on the other, to use it as a surgical tool for more precise cuts with less bleeding."
Among its applications, the laser can treat fine wrinkles, certain skin surface irregularities, and selected scars. It can also be used to support eyelid surgery when the procedure requires combining surgical intervention with actions aimed at improving the skin's appearance. The technology adapts to each patient's needs, adjusting the treatment based on skin type, specific medical indication, and procedural objective.
The equipment has been developed to operate in an anatomical region that requires particularly careful handling. By cutting and coagulating simultaneously, it helps reduce postoperative inflammation and promotes faster, more comfortable recovery for the patient. The goal of these procedures is to improve skin quality and naturally rejuvenate the gaze, without altering facial expression.
