The City Council of Malaga, through its Urban Planning Department, has demanded new precautionary measures from the owner of the building located at number 3 Pasillo de Guimbarda, in the Centro district. The property was affected by a fire during the early hours of May 25th, which is now under control and practically extinguished.
The main action involves the removal of the air conditioning system from an establishment on the building's roof. The objective is to prevent potential detachment of material fragments and ensure safety in the area surrounding the building.
These works, scheduled for this Saturday, June 6th, will be carried out using a crane truck positioned on Cerrojo street. The machinery removal will be supported by personnel from the Malaga Fire Department, who will secure the perimeter and minimize risks.
This measure is in addition to others previously required after the inspection on May 27th, including the perimeter fencing of the property (completed on May 30th), boarding up facade openings, debris removal from the ground floor, and structural shoring as debris is cleared.
The operation will impact mobility in the area. The Local Police of Malaga will close the tunnel on Pasillo de Guimbarda to traffic. Additionally, access to Fátima Avenue from the intersection with Doctor Gálvez Ginachero Avenue will be restricted, with traffic diverted towards Arroyo de los Ángeles Avenue.
Alternative routes for accessing Fátima Avenue and Ribera del Mediterráneo street have been established via La Regente and San Quintín streets. Drivers planning to travel through this central area are advised to anticipate their journeys and follow the instructions of the Local Police.
