The town of Torrox, in the Axarquía region, has inaugurated a new and modern meat processing plant for the company Discarma, following an investment exceeding two million euros, aiming to strengthen its operational capacity and expand distribution across the Costa del Sol and nationally.

The new infrastructure, located in the Cortijo Amaya industrial estate, covers an area of 1,500 square meters and represents a significant advancement for Torrox's local business fabric. Discarma, a meat company already established in the Axarquía, has launched this project to optimize its operations and reach new markets.
According to Óscar Medina, the mayor of Torrox, this inauguration symbolizes "a step forward in its operational and expansion capacity" for the company. From these new facilities, Discarma plans to expand its distribution routes, which currently cover from Málaga to Motril, including the entire coast and the municipalities of the Axarquía. The short and medium-term goal is to extend coverage to the entire Costa del Sol and establish agreements for national distribution.

"This type of initiative is not an isolated event, but the result of the growth that the entire municipality has been experiencing in recent years, from Torrox town to the coast, with a progressive increase in business activity and economic opportunities."

Mayor Medina highlighted that this project is another example of the economic development experienced by the municipality, which is in constant expansion. The company itself has emphasized that this inauguration "represents a commitment to growth and modernization of the sector in the area," and the town council is working to facilitate the establishment of new businesses, simplifying procedures and creating a favorable environment for investment.
Discarma's management has indicated that the choice of Torrox for this new infrastructure responds to strategic criteria, valuing the industrial estate for its better organization and the administrative facilities offered by the town council compared to other nearby municipalities. In addition to the production and distribution areas, the facilities include a dedicated training space, where approved courses for butchers and charcutiers will be taught. A direct sales point to the public with wholesale prices has also been set up, and gastronomic events and live cooking activities are planned to promote their products.
