This event is part of the celebration of UNESCO's International Day for Monuments and Sites, promoted by ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites), and registration is now open.
Coordinated by Pedro Cantalejo, María del Mar Espejo, and their research team, the workshop will last three hours, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The workshop program is divided into three parts. The first hour will be an archaeological workshop showcasing vestiges from different occupation periods of Rincón de la Victoria's prehistoric caves, explaining documentation, classification, and analysis processes. Subsequently, participants will enter the Sala de la Virgen within the cave to learn about the results of the archaeological sequence. Finally, they will tour the main galleries of the Cueva del Tesoro to discuss advancements in the study of Paleolithic rock art and initial chronological data obtained using Uranium Series.
This activity is included in the CARP European Cultural Itinerary, highlighting the cultural and scientific value of the local heritage.
