The state operator has issued an alert for several scheduled journeys, though it has not specified the exact nature of the “operational incident” causing these restrictions. This situation adds to ongoing issues affecting the high-speed rail connection to the capital of Málaga.
Among the affected trains is AVE 02167/10133, bound for Puerta de Atocha, which is experiencing significant delays. The line between Madrid and Málaga has been without a direct route since the tragic accident in Adamuz in January and subsequent storms across the Iberian Peninsula.
Currently, passengers traveling between Madrid and Málaga must complete the final hour of their journey by road from Antequera Santa-Ana station. Renfe has provided buses to cover this last leg to Málaga-María Zambrano station and vice versa, operating as the sole provider on this route while Adif works on the full reopening of the line.
Adif, the railway manager, has repeatedly postponed the full reopening of the Madrid-Málaga line, with the latest estimated date set for the end of April. These delays are due to complex reconstruction efforts on a damaged section following the collapse of a 300-meter-high wall near Álora, in the province of Málaga.
