The initiative, announced at a press conference in the area, seeks to “revitalize” the neighborhood and address the “abandonment” denounced by the group's spokesperson. The proposal focuses on housing rehabilitation, improving citizen security, and reorienting social programs.
“"The neighborhood is becoming a ghetto."
Among the eight measures included in the motion, the development of a ten-year comprehensive housing plan stands out, with its implementation proposed before the end of the year. This plan includes a technical diagnosis of the residential park within a maximum of six months, which would involve structural evaluation of buildings and identification of properties in ruin for rehabilitation or demolition, aiming to expand the public housing stock.
In the social sphere, the proposal suggests reorienting aid and programs under the “national priority principle,” linking subsidies to compliance with coexistence rules and verifiable commitments. Additionally, an extraordinary cleaning plan is proposed to eliminate illegal dumping, reinforce waste collection, and carry out disinfection and pest control actions.
Regarding citizen security, the motion proposes the deployment of a permanent Local Police unit in the area and the reinforcement of night patrols. These actions aim to eradicate illegal street markets and drug dealing. Likewise, the text contemplates the inspection of economic activities to regularize businesses and close those operating without a municipal license.
