The Deputy Secretary of Organization for the PP, Miguel Tellado, took center stage at the event held in Malaga, framing the upcoming elections as a crucial moment for the future of the province, Andalusia, and Spain. Addressing militants and supporters, Tellado outlined a choice between two distinct political models.
“"We are playing for everything on May 17."
The popular leader praised Malaga's role as a fundamental economic engine for southern Spain, attributing its growth and ability to attract investments to the Popular Party's management. He recalled that the absolute majority achieved by Juanma Moreno would not have been possible without the significant support from the province.
Furthermore, Tellado criticized the central government and its president, Pedro Sánchez, accusing them of fostering a political climate of confrontation and increasing tax pressure, which, according to him, has led to a deterioration of public services. In contrast, he defended the work of the Junta de Andalucía, highlighting tax cuts and stability as key pillars of regional economic growth.
Meanwhile, Elías Bendodo, the PP's general coordinator, hosted the event, describing it as the start of a pre-campaign that, in his view, will be the easiest. Bendodo contrasted the current administration of the Junta with the socialist era, alluding to past corruption cases and posing the dilemma between "returning to the past" or "continuing to advance."
“"People are tired of arguments; they want solutions."
The Malaga leader also championed the province's importance, highlighting its sustained demographic and economic growth, and denounced an alleged "punishment" by the central Executive, mentioning infrastructure problems such as the lack of high-speed rail connection in recent months. Both leaders agreed on marking May 17 as a key date to consolidate the PP's project in Andalusia and called for voter mobilization to revalidate the regional government.
