Throughout the fair week, from August 14th to 23rd, over 2,000 police officers implemented a security operation in the city. Nearly 400 citations were issued, the majority related to drug trafficking, indicating a significant increase compared to previous editions. Additionally, 38 citations were issued for illegal possession of weapons.
Fights and disturbances were another primary focus of action. The National Police intervened in 126 brawls, conducting numerous identifications and searches. The objective was to prevent more serious incidents, particularly given that some individuals were carrying bladed weapons.
In the realm of Private Security, officers carried out 86 operations, including inspections within the fairground's stalls. During the overall operation, approximately 6,700 identifications were made, and 110 vehicles were checked.
The 83 arrests covered various offenses. Nine individuals were apprehended for crimes against public health, seven for assault, nine for resistance and disobedience, ten for assaulting law enforcement officers, and eight for crimes against sexual freedom. Furthermore, one person was arrested for violent robbery.
Other arrests included eight individuals for illegal possession of weapons and seven for domestic abuse and gender violence. Additionally, 14 people were arrested on judicial warrants, with the remaining arrests attributed to other types of offenses.
