Leopoldo Pedrosa, an ONCE vendor since 1987 and an affiliate due to his blindness, was responsible for distributing the fortune. Each of the nine tickets sold near the Málaga hospital was worth 40,000 euros.
“"You see people winning (the prize) and you think that one day it has to be your turn, and I am very happy for the people. This will surely boost sales for several months and people will be happier with me."
In addition to Málaga, the Cuponazo also brought luck to other Andalusian towns. In Dos Hermanas, Seville, 6,360,000 euros were distributed, including a six-million-euro prize and nine other 40,000-euro tickets. Meanwhile, La Línea de la Concepción, in Cádiz, received 400,000 euros with ten winning tickets of 40,000 euros each.
In total, the April 10th draw distributed over 7.1 million euros in major prizes across the three aforementioned Andalusian provinces. Nationally, the Cuponazo awarded nine million euros in major prizes among five autonomous communities: Andalusia, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, the Community of Madrid, and the Valencian Community.
ONCE emphasizes that its tickets are part of a social, safe, responsible, and solidarity-based lottery offering. The organization implements strict controls to prevent uncontrolled consumption, prohibits sales to minors and credit purchases, and promotes a responsible gaming policy, adhering to the standards of the World Lottery Association and the European Lotteries Association.
