The province of Málaga will have a special security operation with 184 National Police officers to guarantee the safety of citizens attending the solar eclipse observation. The deployment will focus on strategic points and high-traffic areas such as beaches and viewpoints.
This operation is part of a national plan involving approximately 9,400 officers. In Málaga, surveillance will extend to locations like Gibralfaro in the capital, Torcal de Antequera, Tajo de Ronda, Monte Calamorro in Benalmádena, and the Altos de Marbella, among others.
The officers, mostly in uniform, will aim to prevent crime and maintain public order in observation and access areas, to prevent any incidents that could disrupt the astronomical phenomenon.
The operation will include support from other police specialities and the National Police Air Unit to monitor unauthorized drone flights. It will be coordinated with Civil Protection, emergency services, and local police forces.
The National Police advises planning travel in advance, consulting official pages for preferred observation points and exclusion zones, and following the instructions of officers and emergency services.
